Ice Fishing Simulator 🐟 Wiki

Due to confusion and lack of information floating around for this game I created a quick start and end game guide for any players.

Starting out;

When you first start the game you are given a fishing hole with a small cooler and all base level equipment (Rod, Line, Reel, Lures, etc ). The premise of the game is to stand (or sit) and fish until you fill the cooler. Any fish that you catch while the cooler is full will not count towards anything. When the cooler is full you must pick it up and bring it to Billy's Fish Market which is located next to the store Jimothy's Outdoor Supply. Simply walking inside of the fish market and moving around with sell the fish and you can then proceed back to the players hole in order to continue fishing. When you approach close proximity of the hole the cooler will automatically be placed down. Subsequently you can also pick up your cooler if it is not full and walk around with it and place it anywhere you want. Placing your cooler down near another players hole and fishing out of their spot will not yield you any fish but the other player will receive the money. In order to earn money at other players holes they must give you Access which will in turn split the profits of any fish between the both of you when the cooler is sold, this is not a even split. In the beginning of the game you will see that you will not earn much money as most common fish only give about 200 or so coins. Their are three numbers that will be important to increase throughout the game, these three numbers are the Luck %, Coins, and Gems. The luck % is based on the players fishing hole and is directly increased by the types of Furnishings that the player places down. Luck % is what increases the chances of catching rarer fish. Coins is the games currency and can be earned by selling fish, completing Quests, and completing Challenges. Gems are the games premium currency, they can be earned by completing Quests or by Mining for them in the mines. There are 4 main locations in the game, The ice Lake, the Cave Obby, the Gem Mine, and the Trail. Besides fishing their are other tasks that one can do such as Mining, Platforming, and exploring. Taking the trail to climb the mountain to reach the lookout area, Entering the Cave Obby and completing it, Catching certain fish, and other various tasks such as collecting wood or restocking campfires will usually be included in the daily Quests one can complete in order to earn more Gems.

The shop;

The shop contains various items in multiple categories. Each item besides the utility items all have a luck percentage range or other percentage rate parameter for a various metric in the game, put simply if I buy a chair that says 5-10% luck upon purchasing that chair I will randomly receive a chair that gives me a luck % boost in that range, so you can be unlucky and roll a 5% chair or extremely lucky and roll a 10% as well as anything in between including decimal point values so 8.9%. With this in mind you also cannot sell or gift items purchased, One can very well spend a few million coins on a purchase and unfortunately get the the lower end of its luck% roll. On the other end you are able to purchase a unlimited amount of almost each item, therefore that chair that you purchased for only 5/10% luck you can keep buying until you get one with a luck % that you like and simply discard the rest. You seem to have unlimited inventory storage space however the furnishings that you can place down at your base for the luck boost is not unlimited. With all that being said this is the gist of the game play, now on to the strat.

Strategy;

I will post a video of this to explain everything for visual learners but for now here is the full guide.

Disclaimer: It is best to play with friends as you get a 10% Coin boost if you have a friend in the lobby and another 10% boost if you join and become a Group Member (Located on the games roblox page). In total you can get a 20% Coin boost throughout your run.

In the beginning the first thing your going to do is google Codes for this game. Every so often the Developer will release Codes that give you Gems or Coins. Use the Gems to purchase a infinite campfire and the leftover to buy more furnishing slots. The coins should be used to make educated purchases to increase luck. These codes do expire so if all of the current codes are expired then usually more are released around the holidays or just skip to the next step.

This is the slower part of the game but your going to want to start fishing for a while, I suggest finding a lobby with a really good player and typing in the chat to see if they give you access to their spot so you can split the profits or see if you can get them to fish in your hole and split the profits since they most likely have a upgraded lure that will automatically catch more expensive fish. Your going to do this until you have completed all of your daily and weekly Quests for fishing and filled up a decent amount of your FishDex. Campfires and Green chairs are a good way of increasing luck to catch rarer fish but also dont spend too much money on them as they will become irrelevant quickly. At some point your going to catch a Key and or a Chest. The key allows you to reach the Gem Mine and the Chest gives you about 13k Coins every hour. The Chests are cool to have early game but they do take furnishing slots without giving any luck boost so only good for early game. After you are thoroughly satisfied with fishing and have purchased a larger cooler we will move on to stage two of the strategy.

The Cave Obby;

Upon completing the Cave Obby challenge which is a obstacle course where you try not to die you receive about 3k coins. With the coin boosts mentioned earlier you can gain a total of 4800 Coins. If you optimize your platforming skills the cave can be completed in about 30 seconds. So every minute you can make 10k coins. Im sure you see where im going with this.... I am asking you to mind numbingly complete the Cave Obby Dozens of times in order to gain enough money to purchase the Mini Auto Pole. The Auto pole is about 175k so in theory you need to complete the Obby about 17 times in order to afford one of these. The auto pole takes approximately 30 seconds to catch and real in a fish so each pole will bring in 2 fish a minute for the sake of rounding up. The upgraded cooler holds 20 fish so with 5 Auto poles you can fill a cooler in 2 minutes giving you time to complete the Obby more or do various tasks or be AFK. This is where you want to spend your money on more coolers. After about 3-5 Auto Poles start placing your other furnishings back in your inventory and start purchasing large coolers. Large coolers and Auto Poles give a decent Luck boost on their own so except for the infinite fire you should remove everything else and just have Auto poles and Coolers.

AFK;

What you do now is sort of your own choice. You can afk and come back simply to sell your Coolers, or have friends or people in the lobby sell the Coolers for you or you can stay and play other parts of the game or you can fish. What you want to be doing is completing all of the quests you can in order to buy yourself some more furnishing slots to place down more auto poles. You might see that at some point you can save for the bigger auto pole but dont do that, the Limit of Mini Auto poles you can place down will be about 15, so that is 30 fish a minute. But playing around with the rotation of the poles you are able to fit 29-30 of them, if you cannot get 30 its fine 29 is enough, if you cant reach 29 then start over as you need to get each pole as close to the previous as possible for this to work. The Bigger Auto pole fishes at a rate of about 1 fish every 19-21 seconds, the maximum amount with the regular orientation is around 11 and with the strategy you can place around 20-22. With that being said in total the Mini Auto Pole Maximum strategy fishes at a rate of 58 Fish per minute, the Large Auto Pole with the Maximum strategy fishes at about 63 fish per minute. To me it wasnt worth it since the Big one costs more than double the price so stick with the Mini ones unless your a try hard lol. Your gong to want to setup your Base to include the Max Autopoles + Maximum amount of coolers.

Mining;

Hopefully by now you have acquired a Key, I received mine very early on in game and have not heard of anyone not acquiring one early on. With this your going to make sure you complete all of your Quests, Check for new codes, and Head to the mines to get Gems. The best way to do so is with the AFK mining strat. Your basically going to set a 20 minute timer first and then enter the mine and start mining for gems. Theres a more advanced way to do this with a software tool but for now this is all inside game no cheating. The mining is extremely slow and the exact numbers are about 1 gem per 3 seconds, 1,200 per hour, or 28,800 per day. Which is why it is faster to complete quests as they pop up since that completes a hour of mining. The first thing your going to want to buy is 1 Auto sell Cooler. Once you buy the Auto sell cooler the rest of the game becomes afk. Do not buy more than one autosell cooler its a waste of Gems I found that out the hard way, each fish that enters the cooler gets automatically instantly sold. Once you have the auto cooler you can sell and then get rid of all of your other coolers as you wont be needing them anymore.

End game;

Now that you have Auto fishing and Auto Selling you basically are going to be grinding out the gem mine in order to purchase everything that costs gems while you make money. Once you make a decent amount of money start buying everything that you dont have from the shop just to have it, as far as furnishings go its best to just buy multiple trailers unless you want to decorate with other items but for right now we should maximize luck, the Lures that cost gems are not worth it so buy those at the end. For Gem items your going to want the Drone, and Boombox. After that you can waste your Gems on various items or save for the Lures to get 100% completion. Once you 100% the items from the Shop and your FishDex you will only have two things left. To raise your Level, and to participate in tournaments to win trophies. The grind is now over boys and you can start relaxing and enjoying the game.
